Dina M. Zingaro is a dual degree candidate in law and religion at Harvard Law School and Harvard Divinity School (JD/MDiv), focusing on women, sex, gender, and the body. She seeks to change the way the American public speaks about religion. Since the way we speak about human rights shapes the possibilities for securing and enhancing them, Dina believes shifting away from using binaries, such as “religious freedom vs. LGBTQ rights or abortion rights,” creates opportunities to expand minority rights rather than limit them.

Dina was awarded a research grant from Harvard’s Open Gate Foundation that funded her travel to interview religious LGBTQ activists on the ground in Florida fighting against anti-LGBTQ legislation. At Harvard Divinity, she was awarded the Presidential Scholarship, which is awarded to “outstanding applicants who demonstrate a concern for and interest in public service, broadly conceived.” Before graduate school, Dina worked at CBS News for eight years with correspondent Scott Pelley, including four years as an Associate Producer and Co-Producer for *60 Minutes* where she covered an array of issues including the Southern border, mass shootings, and the militia groups that stormed the Capitol. Her team received multiple News Emmy nominations.

Last summer, Dina worked as a legal intern for GLAD, “GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders,” a leading civil rights organization that brought marriage equality first to Massachusetts, and then to the nation with the 2015 Supreme Court victory of *Obergefell v. Hodges*.

This summer, Dina will be the legal intern for Efrén C. Olivares, Director of Strategic Litigation and Advocacy at the Southern Poverty Law Center.
