***United States Commission on Civil Rights | Washington, DC***

**Jack Kelly** is a rising senior at Harvard College double concentrating in government and applied mathematics. He is passionate about using the tools of math, statistics, and computer science to address pressing economic, social, and legal challenges.

This summer, he will serve as a legal intern at the United States Commission on Civil Rights. He will conduct research on topics including juvenile justice, language access, the impact of teacher shortages on students with disabilities, and civil rights enforcement in higher education.

Previously, Jack worked in the White House Office of Public Engagement on Supreme Court engagement and labor rights in the age of AI. He also worked in the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy where he helped implement clean energy investments under the Inflation Reduction Act.

On campus, Jack was the Co-President of Harvard Model Congress where he led an educational government simulation conference for 1,700 high school students. He also co-chaired the Bipartisan Program for Newly Elected Members of Congress and the Campaign Decision Makers Conference at the Institute of Politics. As a teaching fellow for Ec10, Harvard’s introductory economics course, he enjoys helping students explore the intersection of economics and policymaking.

In his free time, Jack is an amateur marathoner (often spotted running along the Charles River), a podcast enthusiast, and loves spending time with friends and family.
