Class of 2017
Boston Public Schools
Chelsea is a second-year MBA student at Harvard Business School (HBS). Driven by the belief that every child deserves access to excellent educational opportunities as the most powerful lever for social change, just as she experienced herself, Chelsea has built a career across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors in education. As a Presidential Public Service Fellow, Chelsea worked for the managing partner of innovation at Boston Public Schools.
Prior to HBS, Chelsea most recently served as the founding director of strategy at Empower Schools, a startup education nonprofit with the mission to partner with communities and districts to get the schools they want with the results students need by empowering educators. Prior to her role at Empower, Chelsea was a member of Education Practice at The Parthenon Group, a strategic consulting firm, where she designed financial, impact, and organizational models focused on innovation, change management, and strategic planning in public education.
Chelsea’s career is grounded in her work as a teacher. She was a middle school math and science teacher at Arthur Ashe Charter School in New Orleans, LA, where she started as a Teach for America corps member. She served on the school’s leadership team and led her eighth-grade math students to the highest scores for an open-enrollment school in the city of New Orleans. Chelsea earned her BA from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and her MA in education leadership from the Summer Principals Academy at Teachers College, Columbia University.
