Harmann is a second-year law student from Buffalo, New York. He graduated from Columbia University, where he studied math and economics. Before law school, he worked at the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF) on civil rights issues for the Sikh and broader South Asian communities. He entered law school to study civil rights litigation.

 

At Harvard, Harmann is a member of the Prison Legal Assistance Project, the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, and the South Asian Law Students Association. He spent last summer at the ACLU’s Racial Justice Program in New York, working on litigation challenging discriminatory stop and frisk policies and bail practices. After law school, he will clerk in New York and then hopes to pursue civil rights impact litigation. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the drums in jazz bands and orchestras.
