Ariel Silverman

Ariel is a rising senior in Mather House studying Social Studies and Environmental Science & Public Policy. Originally from Boston, Ariel has worked in locations ranging from Homer, Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina researching the economic and environmental impacts of extractive industries. Prior to joining the Pro Bono Program at The Environmental Law Institute, she conducted environmental journalism for NOAA and the Woods Wole Oceanographic Institute. Ariel has also worked as a Government Affairs Intern for Our Children’s Trust, a non-profit law firm fighting for individuals’ constitutional rights to a stable climate in the Juliana v. United States lawsuit. On campus, she has served on the steering committee of the First-Year Outdoor Program (FOP), an outdoor orientation program that introduces incoming students to Harvard. Ariel is excited to be working with the Pro Bono Team at the Environmental Law Institute this summer helping to develop a Clearinghouse Program that will fill crucial gaps in environmental legal services in the US.
