Ayesha McAdams-Mahmoud is a third-year Doctor of Science student at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she studies the ways art, storytelling, media, and data science can converge as tools of restorative justice to improve the mental health of communities that have experienced concentrated disadvantage. She applies lessons learned from her work experiences in the performing arts, journalism, health communication, and behavioral science to translate science and identify innovative ways of centering communities as the beneficiaries and co-designers of social services. She received her Master of Public Health degree​from Emory University in 2011, and her
​BS in j​ournalism from Northwestern University in 2005.
