César Monarrez is a dual degree MBA+MPA student between the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Harvard Kennedy School. A Chicago native, César graduated from Harvard College in 2015 with an AB in Chemistry.

As a dual degree student, César is focused on leveraging effective operations, long term strategic and financial planning, and sound human capital practices to help public and social sector organizations maximize their impact and improve efficiency. Prior to graduate school, he worked as a human capital and organizational design consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, D.C., working exclusively on projects with the U.S. Department of Labor. He also spent time at Isaacson, Miller in Boston, helping our nation’s leading civic sector organizations, including universities, hospitals, and foundations, hire their c-suite leadership. Outside of work, César has served on associate boards of multiple non-profits focused on workforce development, education, and financial mobility including United Way of Massachusetts Bay and New Futures.

César will continue his career focused on the intersection of the private and civic sectors by working as a consultant to New England state and local governments at Guidehouse. Long term, he is interested in labor and workforce development policy and hopes to lead organizations that create good jobs for workers, expand training and apprenticeship opportunities, and improve graduation rates at community colleges.
