Diego Navarrete is a rising senior at Harvard College studying Government with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, & Rights. Diego was born in Mexico and migrated with his family at a young age to Detroit, Michigan. As an undocumented immigrant and DACA recipient, Diego has been a life-long advocate for immigrant rights and social justice. He has been an active community organizer since the age of 14, empowering youth in metro Detroit to advocate for their community and engage in local politics. Diego is committed to addressing issues at the local level, having previously interned with the Mayor of Detroit and the United States Conference of Mayors. In 2019, Diego served as the co-director for Act on a Dream, a Harvard student organization that supports undocumented students and advocates for immigrant justice.

Diego has been recognized twice by the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations for his work to increase racial equity and support for marginalized students on Harvard’s campus.
