Appellate Advocacy Center | Chicago, IL

Emmy Cho is a rising senior in Eliot House studying History. She is committed to historical approaches to enduring legal issues and the intersections between law and literature. Emmy is the current president of the Harvard Political Review, where she is fortunate to work alongside a dedicated masthead and help feature the work of undergraduate journalists who have something to say about politics, policy, culture, and campus affairs. During her tenure as the publication’s managing editor, Emmy helmed the Red Line Fellowship, an opportunity for students to conduct investigations that use in-depth research, expert interviews, data journalism, and multimedia to tell a story about a political issue that deserves attention. Her curricular interests center around the American Civil War and how its legacy manifests in competing approaches to civic education. Emmy is an undergraduate fellow for the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics and recently completed her term as an undergraduate representative for the General Education Committee.

This summer, Emmy will work with the Appellate Advocacy Center, one of twelve centers that operate within the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law’s Bluhm Legal Clinic. Directed by Xiao Wang and partnered with attorneys from Sidley Austin LLP, the Center is one of the premier appellate law organizations in the country and takes on cases in every court of appeals, many state supreme courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
