Fangzhou (FZ) Jiang is a Master in Public Administration candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). As one of the Transition Fellows at HKS, FZ worked with the newly elected Major of Memphis to identify strategic priorities for the new administration during its first weeks of governing. This summer, FZ will continue his work at the Mayor’s Office, facilitating the implementation of transition recommendations and targeting critical issues to the community including road safety and neighborhood improvement.

Before HKS, FZ co-founded Crimson Education - an EdTech startup that operates a global university & career counseling platform and a fully accredited online high school. With 800 fulltime employees and offices in 26 countries/regions, the organization has been supporting tens of thousands of students worldwide to achieve their educational and professional goals. FZ was named New Zealand Student Entrepreneur of the Year and recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30. Deeply passionate about the digitalization of education, FZ aspires to run for public office in the future with a focus on K-12 education policies.

FZ was born in a small town in northwestern China and went to high school in New Zealand where he graduated with the nation’s highest academic honor. He then earned a BS in Computer Science from the Australian National University on a full merit scholarship before receiving an MS in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University and an MA in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar. At Harvard, FZ is a John F. Kennedy fellow and served as the Vice President of Families at the Kennedy School Student Government.
