Girish Pendse

Girish Pendse is first-year Master in Public Administration student at the Harvard Kennedy School. This summer, he will be working for the Chicago Mayor’s Office within their Economic and Neighborhood Development team. During his internship he will support the implementation of the Chicago Recovery Plan, which aims to catalyze a sustainable economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
At HKS, Girish is pursuing a concentration in Social and Urban Policy with a particular focus on increasing economic opportunity for individuals and communities that have been left behind. Outside of the classroom, he works as a Research Assistant for Harvard’s Project on Workforce and serves as a group leader for the Cross-Harvard Future of Work Study Group focused on regional workforce and economic development.
Prior to graduate school, Girish worked as a Senior Project Manager at Dalberg Advisors where he supported clients grappling with issues of justice, equity, and economic mobility in the United States. Before that, he spent five years as a management consultant with Strategy&, and also served as a TechnoServe Fellow in Bihar, India. Girish holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.
