Jane Holmes is a JD student at Harvard Law School who will be working with the Political Asylum/Immigrant Representation (PAIR) Project this summer in Boston. Jane is from Middlebury, Vermont and studied Rhetoric at Bates College. She is interested in working in immigration, housing, and family law. At HLS, she is the Practice Area Head of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau Family Practice, which supports immigrant families and does family defense work representing clients who are investigated by the Department of Children and Families. She is on the board of the Tenant Advocacy Project and Project No One Leaves and is a member of the Harvard Immigration Project. This year, she was also the president of the Survivor Justice Coalition.

Before law school, Jane worked as a domestic violence advocate, and she is passionate about uplifting survivors through anti-carceral supports. Last summer, Jane worked with Massachusetts Law Reform Institute in the Family Law and Domestic Violence Unit. She is excited to work in asylum and detention representation this summer with PAIR Project and expand her legal aid tool kit.
