Jenny Le is a first-generation, low-income Vietnamese-American born and raised on Long Island, New York. She is a rising-junior living in Cabot House at Harvard College and studies Government with a secondary in Computer Science. She dreams of becoming an immigration lawyer one day to pursue her passions of public service intersection social justice and politics. She dedicates much of her free time to public service and currently serves as the Secretary of the Phillips Brooks House Association, Chair of the Citizenship Tutoring program at the Institute of Politics, and Director of the Recent Immigrant Summer Enrichment program at the PBHA’s Summer Urban Program. She also volunteers with the Harvard Undergraduate Law Committee — which provides free legal assistance to partnering organizations — and writes for the Harvard Undergraduate Law Review, Harvard Political Review, and Massachusetts Menstrual Equity Coalition. She strives to see communities of colors overcome language barriers and find community within their new country, and wants to take a step further in seeing recent immigrant teenagers pursue higher education and immigrant adults attain their citizenships.

This summer, Jenny will serve as the Director of RISE after spending last summer instructing RISE campers in English instruction as a Senior Counselor. She seeks to guide Senior Counselors in creating the perfect curriculum to bridge disparities in educational resources for immigrant teens. Furthermore, she will build a community for these teenagers, celebrating their unique cultures and embracing their admirable passion for learning and growing. They’ll take trips to all different universities, explore Boston, work on intellectually-enticing projects catered to each classroom — which are divided by English proficiency — and of course, grow their English proficiency through a fun summer experience!
