Micah Johnson is an MD candidate at Harvard Medical School. He graduated from Yale University with a BS in biochemistry and neuroscience, and earned a degree in philosophy, politics, and economics from the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
 
Micah is a health policy researcher, writer, and adviser. He was a founding member of Protect Our Patients, a national grassroots campaign of medical students advocating to defend the Affordable Care Act. He also helped author a universal healthcare plan for a gubernatorial campaign in Michigan. His work has appeared in the American Journal of Public Health, Health Affairs Blog, the AMA Journal of Ethics, Slate, and Scientific American. He is currently working on a book about the history, policy, and politics of national health insurance. He plans a career combining clinical medicine and health policy.
 
This summer Micah will work as a health policy fellow for Congressman Lloyd Doggett, Chair of the Ways & Means Health Subcommittee in the U.S. House of Representatives.
